About Baby Lane

On July 31, 2008, Lane Anthony Free entered this world with a bleak prognosis. He was faced with the challenge of fighting for his life, even before his first breath. Diagnosed in utero with a complex congenital heart defect, Lane was born with Pulmonary Atresia, Tricuspid Valve Displasia and an enlarged Right Atrium.

Lane endured his first open heart surgery at only twelve days old. He then spent the first 3 months of life at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL in the Cardiovascular ICU. Shortly after bringing Lane home the family’s insurance provider stated Lane had met his lifetime maximum coverage, which has seriously burdened this family’s finances.

Since then, Lane has had a second open heart surgery among other numerous procedures including a Catheter Ablation, Carioversion and Heart Catheterizations. This miracle baby continues to grow healthy and stronger every month but will need future open heart surgeries as he gets bigger.
